On December 8th, 2024, the President of Syria, Bachar el-Assad embarks on a plane and flees Damascus. This date is now historical for Syria as it marks the end of his dictatorial regime and his crimes. Syrian rebels declared their victory on National Television whilst the russian minister of foreign affairs states Assad’s demission. The latter has since then sought “humanitarian asylum” in Moscow, where him and his family fled. But who is Bachar El Assad ? Why did he have to flee ? What were the caracteristics of his regime ? Such questions are necessary, especially when El-Assad’s demission made the headlines of every tabloid worldwide.
