The claims of North Korean troops to combat in Ukraine are making the headlines for a couple of weeks. The move was seen as a big gesture from Kim Jong-Un to Vladimir Putin and interpreted as yet another destabilizing effort of the Pyongyang regime, this time on European soil. While the effects of the presence of these troops are yet to be discovered, it may have several effects not necessarily on the ground but also on the roadmap of policymakers on the two sides of the Atlantic. The question is whether this will be a turning point for Europe to reevaluate its policies of this reality of war on its soil especially before Trump takes office.
